Magdalene Nduku, a widow from Kitui County, has come forward with disturbing allegations against her in-laws, revealing the strange and unsettling rituals they performed on the night before her husband’s burial.
Nduku, a mother of several children, shared her story in an emotional interview, shedding light on the deep tensions within her late husband's family and the traumatic experiences she and her children endured during this difficult time.
Nduku’s husband had been battling an illness that ultimately claimed his life in a local hospital. However, according to Nduku, her in-laws displayed little concern or compassion during his final days.
She recounted how she repeatedly pleaded with them to visit their ailing relative in the hospital, but her requests were met with indifference.
To her shock, they only appeared after his death, and Nduku described how they arrived at the hospital with what she perceived as smiles on their faces, a reaction that deeply troubled her.
The situation took a darker turn on the night before her husband's burial. Nduku claimed that her mother-in-law invited a group of sorcerers to their homestead. The events that unfolded were nothing short of terrifying.
Nduku and her children observed from their home as the sorcerers gathered at her mother-in-law's house, performing what appeared to be a ritual. Around 11 p.m., a goat was brought to the homestead, slaughtered, and its blood was collected in a basin.
The sorcerers then carried the blood to the gravesite where Nduku’s husband was to be buried the following day, pouring the blood into the grave and taking some soil back into the house.
Fearful and devastated, Nduku and her children sought solace in prayer. They held hands and prayed fervently, hoping for divine intervention. According to Nduku, their prayers were answered as the sorcerers eventually left their homestead.
Nduku’s account highlights the profound rift between her and her in-laws, who she says had always treated her and her children as outsiders. Despite the grief of losing her husband, she found herself having to protect her family from what she saw as malevolent forces during a time of mourning.
